Good evening, and welcome to Azeroth After Dark. I'm Lyra. Alongside me tonight are Morwen Ashgrave, who reads every patch note twice before she believes it, Grukk, who measures Azeroth in boss kills, and Durgan Stoutbrew, who has walked these old roads since launch. Good evening. Everything on tonight's rundown is beta, so I'll be asking what's confirmed and what isn't. Good to be at the desk, Lyra.
I've been in the Forever beta all week, and I brought numbers. Evening to you all. A reimagined original Azeroth is very much my kind of headline. Tonight, all four stories are World of Warcraft Forever. Elves talking across faction lines, a popular interface addon arriving in the beta, a library grind open to every class, and a walkthrough for a new dungeon above the Undercity. Morwen, start us with the Elves.
Wowhead reports that in the WoW Forever beta, Elves can communicate with each other regardless of faction. The new playable race, the Skyborne, splits into High Order Skyborne on Alliance and Windshaper Skyborne on Horde. Here's the race on the big screen. Wowhead says all Skyborne currently have access to Darnassian, so selecting that language lets players speak each other's languages across enemy lines.
The evidence came from the Classic WoW subreddit, where a user named Odin sixty nine showed a chat window with both players speaking Darnassian. Two enemy players, one conversation. Here is how Wowhead frames the problem. Blizzard has previously been strongly against blurring the lines between Alliance and Horde too much. Morwen, is this intentional? Wowhead says it's up in the air, and it may simply be a bug, because all Skyborne start out in the same place.
Blizzard hasn't confirmed it either way. For context, Wowhead's race guide says you choose Alliance or Horde Skyborne at character creation. Staying in the Forever beta, and moving to your screen. Icy Veins reports that EllesmereUI is now available in WoW Forever. Grukk, what does the addon actually do? It's a modular interface addon, Lyra. Icy Veins says the visual editor lets you move, resize, anchor and align interface elements, whether you want every bit of information on screen or a completely minimalist setup.
Icy Veins suggests this is a good moment to tinker while players wait for the beta's level cap to increase. Wowhead's beta overview says testers are capped at level 30, initially level 20. Grukk, what's in it specifically for Forever? Here's the list from the creator's Reddit post. A new Forever Essentials module with a threat meter and a flight timer, heal and spell cost prediction, faction indicators, and a pet power bar with hunter pet happiness.
And the name is familiar for a reason. Icy Veins notes EllesmereUI won CurseForge's Addon Trials competition for Midnight, taking the 2,500 dollar grand prize. The Forever version is on CurseForge now. Our third story is about what you do between the dungeon runs. Wowhead reports that in WoW Forever, every class can collect books around Azeroth for rewards. Durgan, this one is a callback. It is, Lyra.
Wowhead says the book collecting some Mages remember from Season of Discovery is back, but this time all classes can complete it. Instead of a Rune, it's a necklace for handing in 10 books, or a Ring for handing in 20. Durgan, where do the books actually get handed in? At your Faction Librarian. Alliance go to Garion Wendell inside the Mage Tower in Stormwind City, Horde to Owen Thadd in the Magic Quarter in Undercity.
And here's the number that matters, twenty books for the ring. Mages get something extra. Wowhead says that when a Mage hands in their first book, they learn a new ability called Study, tied to a new spell, Decipher Scrolls, learnt from a trainer at level 6. With a warning attached. Wowhead says this may not be working as expected on the beta, where attempting to Study opened the Cooking profession repeatedly, crashed the tester's entire P C, and then the ability disappeared.
The non-caster ring is also marked Rogue-only, which may be a bug. From the library to a ruin. Wowhead has published a walkthrough for the Ruins of Lordaeron, one of the new dungeons players are likely to meet early in WoW Forever. Grukk, you've been inside. I have, Lyra. It's a level 16 to 23 dungeon located above the Undercity, immediately to the left once you make your way into Lordaeron. Six bosses in total, and Wowhead says the final boss is level 20.
Let's put the video up on the big screen. Wowhead calls it a non linear dungeon with secrets, and the six bosses can be done in any order. Here is Wowhead's own summary, the pros and the cons side by side. The one I would flag before you queue up is that one boss is currently bugged on the beta and can sometimes not spawn. That boss is Viktor the Vile. On quests, Wowhead counts six for Horde and four for Alliance, and Alliance players find all of theirs inside, from an N P C named Captain Truman.
And the payoff is experience. Wowhead says those quests grant anywhere from three thousand five hundred to nine thousand seven hundred fifty experience, and they show up red even at level 17, though the dungeon is clearable there. That is tonight's rundown: cross-faction Elf chat, EllesmereUI in the beta, a library grind open to every class, and the Ruins of Lordaeron. All four are beta reports, so treat every detail as subject to change.
Three of tonight's stories came from Wowhead and one from Icy Veins, and the full posts are linked with this episode. Blizzard's own announcement says Forever launches globally on November 4th, 2026, at 3 PM Pacific Standard Time, so I have a brew on ice until then. For Morwen, Grukk and Durgan, I'm Lyra. Thank you for spending your evening with us, and good night from a very old Azeroth made new.
