Lok'tar, and welcome to Azeroth After Dark. I'm Grukk, orc raid leader and professional loot goblin, and tonight the whole couch belongs to WoW Forever. I'm Lyra, lore keeper and collector in residence. Tonight: frame rates face-planting, the beta level cap jumping to 30, a stat nobody's ever seen, and more. Plus official deep dives for Priest and Warrior, and somebody farming seeds for a greenhouse nobody can build.

But first, Lyra, why is my frame rate dying in Stormwind? Because you're in a beta, Grukk. Icy Veins rounded up what testers are actually doing about it, and one graphics option is catching most of the blame. Secondary Lighting. Secondary Lighting? News to me. What does turning it down actually buy you? Players say dropping it from Maximum to Good or Fair fixed most of their lag, and Blizzard's forums are giving the same advice.

Other tip: set a static frame cap. So dragging every slider down to potato quality is wrong? It is. Some players report almost no difference between high and low settings, which Icy Veins says points at the beta's optimization, not your rig. Launch is November 4th, so there's time. And that beta's about to get bigger. Wowhead reports Blizzard confirmed a new build, with the level cap raised from 20 to 30.

Blizzard's wording: the beta goes offline for maintenance tomorrow morning Pacific, then comes back several hours later with changes and fixes. Thirty. Look at that number. Ten more levels for my guild to break before dinner. Wowhead also notes Blizzard promised all the details the day it goes live, so as of that post the actual notes weren't out. Icy Veins ran the same announcement with the calendar attached.

That's the part that matters if you actually want to test anything. Cap goes up October 1st, which gives players three weeks to test content up to level 30, because the beta should only run until October 22nd, per the roadmap. Small wrinkle. Blizzard's own beta post says the beta is available through October 21st, the last full day of testing. Icy Veins says the 22nd, the official post says the 21st.

Short window either way, and players are already dragging loot out of it nobody expected. My favourite kind of news. Icy Veins says level 20 players formed raid groups to kill higher level enemies, and the loot came back with a stat that's never existed. Robes. They let your spells pierce the target's magical resistance, and the stat's called Spell Pierce. Hang on, that's Spell Penetration from Burning Crusade in a new hat, isn't it?

Icy Veins makes the same comparison. Spell Penetration decreased the magical resistances of your spell targets, and Spell Pierce appears to do the same, just worded differently. And here's the wild bit. Blizzard's hiding item data on purpose, over 12,500 items, so this surfaced because players looted it, not datamining. Beta gear, so it can still change. Now the official word. Blizzard posted class deep dives for WoW Forever covering Priest and Warrior, and they say up front abilities and talents may keep evolving through the beta.

Put it on the big screen. Warriors get Rage made more reliable, some utility brought forward as baseline, and every specialization sharpened. Talents start at level 10. That's my lane, I'm happy. What about your Priests, Lyra, and please tell me Shadow Word Death is in there. Baseline at level 32. Fear Ward and Devouring Plague go to every Priest at level 20, Divine Spirit's baseline at 30, and Night Elf Starshards hits substantially harder on a 30 second cooldown.

Fair warning on Shadow Word Death. Miss the kill and the Priest eats 10 percent of their own max health, on a 15 second cooldown. There's far more in the full post. Last one, and it's the mystery I can't let go of. Players in Forever are looting herb seeds for a greenhouse nobody can craft yet. Seeds? Throw it on screen, what do they even say? They read: plant the seed in a Greenhouse to grow it over time.

The Greenhouse is the tier above Herbalism's Incense Candle, needs a campfire nearby, and Wowhead's Forever database lists that same tooltip. So where's the blueprint? Nobody knows. Icy Veins says it's in the data, but no one's reported where you actually get it. It only needs Herbalism 140, but also Arthas' Tears, which don't show up until Western Plaguelands and Felwood. So that's the night. A beta getting ten more levels, a stat players found by punching above their level, and a greenhouse waiting on launch.

All of it from the WoW Forever beta, so treat the numbers as subject to change. Tonight's stories came from Blizzard's own post, Wowhead and Icy Veins, and the full posts are linked with this episode. Go turn down Secondary Lighting, go find something weird in the beta, and tell us about it. From Grukk and Lyra, good night, and may your campfire never go out.
