Good evening, and welcome to Azeroth After Dark. I'm Lyra, your lore keeper at the anchor desk, and beside me is Durgan Stoutbrew, the dwarf who has been raiding since the original game shipped and who handles our Classic desk. Good to be here, Lyra. Tonight the news is all retail, which means I'm allowed to have opinions about keystones instead of about old dungeon runs. Two stories for you tonight.
Keystone Myth returns with a higher score requirement, and Blizzard has put a date on Midnight's next content update. We start with the Mythic Plus bar, and it has moved up. Wowhead reports that the Keystone Myth achievement is returning in patch 12 point 1 point 5, and it will require a Mythic Plus rating of 3,600. That is the Season 2 version of the achievement on the live game. Lyra, how does that compare with what the achievement asked for the first time around?
Season 1 required 3,400 score, so this is a higher bar. Wowhead puts it this way, that players will need more than half the dungeons on an 18 on average, compared to the flat 16s of last season. Two hundred points does not sound like much until you are the one timing them. Back in my day the reward was bragging rights, so what does this one actually pay out? The rewards have not been explicitly mentioned for Season 2.
Wowhead says it will likely be the same as Season 1, a Timelost Saddle, which lets you choose a mount from a list, but that is an expectation and not a confirmation. For context, Icy Veins reported that the Season 1 achievement in patch 12 point 0 point 5 needed 3,400 rating and rewarded that saddle, and Wowhead counted 14 returning Mythic Plus mounts and new recolors at the time. Blizzard also says the dungeons themselves are being looked at.
Here is the wording from the official post. That same post gives the patch a date. Blizzard says Midnight's 12 point 1 point 5 content update arrives October 13th, with weekly maintenance, on the live game. Let's put the headline art on the big screen. Lyra, what is carrying this update? A single boss raid called The Unbinding of Kith'ix, with Lady Liadrin at your side. Blizzard lists Story Mode, Normal, Heroic and Mythic, and on Mythic you face him with a flexible group of 15 to 25 players.
The one I want is the Labyrinth of Kindo'jan, a Delve like gauntlet with nine chambers and a Tier 11 solo challenge. Blizzard says you can run it in one session or a wing at a time, with Valeera Sanguinar along as your companion. Here is the full lineup as Blizzard lists it, including the new story campaign, The Promise of Tomorrow, which returns to Quel'Thalas and Zul'Aman. Lyra, is there anything players should be doing before October 13th?
Yes. Blizzard encourages you to take two quests before maintenance the week of October 6th, one from Decimus in Voidstorm and one from Orin Straylight in Silvermoon City. That chain unlocks one additional Nebulous Voidcore a week. The week of October 20th brings Ascendant Venomstones. Ten of them, used near the Catalyst in Silvermoon City, raise the item level of a fully upgraded Season 2 weapon, trinket or necklace, and the crest cap is lifted that same week.
Outdoors there are Aqir Invasions in Eversong or Zul'Aman, ten minutes each hour, six scenario types and eight possible affixes on the combat ones. My analysis is that a ten minute hourly event is the most social thing in this update, and I think that is the part people will still be doing in December. That is tonight's rundown. A higher Keystone Myth bar at 3,600, and a dated content update on October 13th that brings the raid, the Labyrinth and the campaign that closes this chapter of Quel'Thalas.
Our sources were Blizzard's own announcement and Wowhead's report, with earlier context from Icy Veins, and the full posts are linked with the episode. For Durgan Stoutbrew, I'm Lyra. Keep your keystones warm and your Silvermoon quests turned in. Good night from Azeroth After Dark.
