Brand new legendary staff, just revealed in WoW Forever, and Blizzard won't say who can use it or what it does! Welcome to Azeroth After Dark. I'm Grukk, orc raid leader, and I live for loot. And I'm Elena, here for the events, the mounts and the story. World of Warcraft Forever is officially live in all regions, Grukk, and this lineup's packed! You're getting all of it. The launch toy you earn by watching Twitch, profession manuals from your first quests, the queues, that legendary, and more.
But the purple campfire goes first, because that clock's already running. Wowhead says Blizzard's revealed another way to earn the Pouch of Violet Dust toy in WoW Forever, through Twitch drops! It's a launch celebration toy, and it turns your campfire purple. Purple fire? I'm in, and no, we're not discussing why. What's it actually do, Elena? All your camp benefits last 1 hour longer, so 2 hours total.
And it's shared, so anyone else resting at that camp gets the same extension. Here's the price: four hours of eligible WoW streams by November 12th at 4:30 PM Pacific, with your Twitch and Battle net accounts linked. In early December the toy's removed from collections, so use it while you can. Want your gathering going before you even leave the starting area? Icy Veins says early quests in each WoW Forever starting area now reward training manuals, so you can skip the profession trainer.
Skip the trainer? That's my kind of shortcut. Which books? You pick one of three. Mining for Dummies, Wild Harvest for Herbalism, or Pelt Collecting for Beginners for Skinning. Orcs and Trolls, your quest is Galgar's Cactus Apple Surprise. Mining for Dummies is my whole reading list. But it still counts toward your two primary professions, so no sneaking in a third. And learning Mining or Skinning doesn't hand you the tool, so buy a pick or a knife.
Want to know how long the lines really got? Wowhead confirms WoW Forever is officially live in all regions, and it's been tracking the queues. Zug zug, the gates are open! So how long's the wait, Elena? At 3:10 Pacific, Wowhead had queues at about 5 to 10 minutes for most players, with many reporting positions between 1500 and 4000. But Grukk, many got through and hit unavailable rulesets. If that's you, you need to requeue.
Then look at the 4:15 Pacific update, and here's how Wowhead put it. Around 10 minutes, servers very stable, and a very smooth launch so far. I love to see it! Now the one you stuck around for. Wowhead says Taldramir, the Whispering Wood, has been revealed as WoW Forever's new legendary! And as many had speculated, Blizzard was indeed teasing one. A legendary! I need it. Who gets it, Elena, and what's it do?
That hasn't been announced. Wowhead says no details from Blizzard on class restrictions or effects, but it's a two-handed staff with a clear Druid theme. You can also spot it in the Skyborne key art. My bet? Druids are already clearing bank space, and I'm jealous. But Blizzard hasn't said a word on who can use it, so that's just me talking. Chasing power while you level? Icy Veins mapped the fastest way to earn 15 Legacy Points in WoW Forever.
Fair warning, they say it won't be fast. Fifteen points! Give me the route. Six crafting professions to 150, the first dungeon challenge, and eight classes to level 25. Icy Veins says start as a Tauren Hunter, for Plainsrunning and a pet to grab aggro while you gather. Eight classes? Blizzard's own post says you can spend up to 16 points on each character at launch, reachable on a single character, so alts aren't required.
Icy Veins' full post has more, including a 10 point option. Stay with us, because an old friend's back. Wowhead says the Questie addon has returned in WoW Forever, and if you played Classic in 2019, you likely know the name. Questie! Hold on though, Elena, doesn't Forever already show quest indicators? It does, even without addons. So Questie's more about quality of life, like map indicators for quests not in your log, extra data points for quest drops, and party announcements when you complete quests.
And Wowhead says a lot of quests were improperly tracked by the in-game system on the beta, so there's my pitch. Grab it from any addon management app or CurseForge. One last stop, and I think it's the small stuff you'll actually notice. Wowhead flagged Blizzard's updated WoW Forever development notes, with a new section on user interface and accessibility added before launch. Development notes. My kind of reading.
What's in there? There are nine changes, so just the highlights. The Swing Timer bar no longer fades out due to distance until the swing finishes, and Blizzard fixed Nameplates not displaying Elite enemy status. The keybind one's my favorite. Hover over an action bar keybind in the menu and it highlights the button. Small change, but I'll take it. So that's a purple campfire, manuals instead of trainers, queues holding steady, and a legendary nobody can explain yet.
That's one busy launch, Grukk. It all came from Wowhead, Icy Veins and Blizzard, and the full posts are linked with the episode. Hit subscribe for more WoW Forever news, and see you next time!
